My wife, Trish, and I have lived in two different houses in High Legh for more than 30 years and have grown to love the village. I am new to the Parish Council in March 2012 but was previously involved in the development and publication of the Parish Plan. I have chaired the Parish Plan Implementation Group for the last 18 months. Now retired, I have long working experience in senior roles in Information Systems and strategic management in consultancy and for many years with a global pharmaceuticals company.

I am married to Janet (Abbey Leys Farm), and have lived and worked in High Legh all my life, my children attended High Legh Primary School and I have been a Parish Councillor and School Governor at High Legh for about 15 years. As a local rural businessman I know and understand many of the issues affecting the village and wider Parish, such as Planning, Highways and Utilities. I represent the Parish of High Legh by attending meetings with partners such as Cheshire East, and regularly support Parishioners with their questions and concerns.

I have lived in High Legh 28 years, the last five years with my partner Dave. I feel very proud to live in such a lovely environment and setting. I have always worked full time in business with long hours; however I now work part time and would like to put something back into the community to help preserve and develop what we have here in High Legh. I am on the Woodlands Crescent Residents Committee as Communications Officer and liaise with local residents to canvass opinions, impart information, leaflet drops or represent the village at meetings etc. I am also interested in assisting in managing the amenities and possibly research etc. Through the Parish Plan I am on the Speeding Action Committee and the Village Appearance Committee.

I am married to Helen (High Legh Village Hall Manager) and we have two children – Thomas and Sarah, who both went to High Legh Primary. Thomas is studying medicine, firstly at St. Andrews and now under Manchester University at Wythenshawe and Sarah is now studying Chemistry at Bath University. I was educated at High Legh Primary (now the Village Hall), Bedstone School in South Shropshire and Shuttleworth Agricultural College in Bedfordshire . I am a rural businessman working in farming. The family has been at Broadheys Farm since 1831, and we are the 5th generation to farm there and the 4th generation of family to serve on the Parish Council. I am well versed in High Legh history and knowledge of the area. I enjoy serving the community and on the Parish Council I work actively on the Finance, Highways, HS2, and Planning Committees and assist with the Neighbourhood Plan, and I am now on my second stint as Chairman of the Parish Council having been Chairman previously over ten years ago.
