High Speed Rail 2
Saturday 16th March
10.00 – 12.00
High Legh Village Hall
The proposals for Phase Two of HS2, extending Britain's new high speed rail network north from Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds, have been announced. The proposed route goes through High Legh Parish and would have a significantly negative impact on the Parish. The Parish Council opposes the plan and is collaborating with other affected Councils in Cheshire to mount a concerted campaign against the scheme. The first action is to help parishioners who are potentially impacted by the planned route to take part in the High Speed Two Exceptional Hardship Scheme consultation. This is a discretionary purchase scheme for property owners whose properties may be affected by HS2. Just because you may not be directly affected does not mean this does not apply to you – please support those in the Parish that are affected and make your views known, this consultation will close on 29 April 2013.
HLPC have some large maps of the proposed route and are holding this drop-in session to allow the maps to be viewed and give parishioners the opportunity to talk to Parish Councillors on the matter.
