|High Legh Neighbourhood Area
High Legh Parish Council (HLPC) have applied to Cheshire East Council (CEC) to designate High Legh as a Neighbourhood Area under The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. CEC is holding a six week consultation to determine whether the proposed Neighbourhood Area is suitable for the creation of a Neighbourhood Plan for High Legh. The consultation starts on 11th June 2013 and closes on 23rd July 2013. Please see Cheshire East's website at: http://cheshireeast-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal/planning/np/hlarea.
Neighbourhood Planning (NP) is a way for local communities to shape the development of the area in which they live. NP reflects the community's requirements and aspirations and will allow High Legh to decide what development can take place.
Once the consultation ends, CEC will consider the representations and decide whether to designate the Neighbourhood Area.
HLPC feel that the parish is a discrete part of Cheshire East with a strong sense of local community. It is bounded and affected by neighbouring parishes and towns in Cheshire East, Cheshire West & Chester and Warrington. In developing and publishing a Parish Plan, the community strongly asked that it should be proactive in addressing planning, landscape and environmental issues that affect it. It is clear that there is a strong desire to retain the overall rural and urban balance of the parish while ensuring its continuance and development as a thriving and sustainable area. The Parish has agreed that it needs to play its part in the development of Local Plans for Cheshire East.[+ go back...]|
